My background is leadership in sales and marketing, and my expertise is in sales process and sales methodology that help businesses grow more effectively.
Specifically, I work with you to define a step by step process that enables you move consistently from a sales lead to closing the deal (sales process), and a strategic approach to managing and growing sales opportunities (sales methodology).
Sales Process: A good sales process is systematic and repeatable and is a key ingredient to consistent business growth. With a clearly defined process to follow, all the people that have to sell in your business will understand what crucial steps they need to take to keep the opportunity moving forward. It’s possible that inexperienced (or poor performing) sales people could skip crucial stages during the sales cycle, leading to leaks and lost sales. Without a good sales process, you risk your team operating inconsistently, which in turn will lead to confusion, inefficiency and bad practice.
Sales Methodology: A sales methodology is also a systematic and repeatable business practice, but this time the focus of attention is on the strategic nature of the sales opportunity. For example, “Is what our prospective customer is looking to achieve within our unique scope, and what is our competitive position?” This is just one question that a good sales strategy should answer. Your sales methodology should also consider how stakeholders within your prospects organisation could potentially impact on your ability to close the deal, and what ‘strategy’ you have for dealing with ‘blockers’ to the deal.
A good sales methodology will help you position your product, services or solution more effectively to meet your prospect’s business goals. As a result, you win more sales opportunities than lose them, and become ‘strategic’ and ‘trusted’ moving forward to win repeat business.
The industries I have most experience with are in Telecoms, Media, Technology (TMT). However, I’ve managed significant customer accounts in Banking, Broadcasting, Professional Services, Retail and Telecoms.
